suPHP_Engine off

to

suPHP_Engine on
```

and

```
service apache2 restart
```

Fiddle with `/etc/suphp/suphp.conf` and make sure the docroot is the wordpress install and min_uid/min_gid  < id-of(www-data)/gid-of(www-data)

```
chown -R www-data.www-data <wordpress install>
```
