factory reset commands
To reset root's password, boot and catch it at the loader and add the
word single to the prompt. and you will boot single user and can
set root's password.
To set factory defaults,
defconf
saveconf
reboot
Note, this didn't affect credentials which were still the same and we don't know what root's password is.
Future note, you'll need to reset root password from the console so needs physical access.
configure network settings (ip, mask, gw, resolvers)
wiz
This is a wizard that prompts you for the important network information and puts it in
/etc/$file_list (TODO)
configure serial ports
I used the web interface at https://o0.sea.rg.net to configure the port settings (speed and alias).
Then I was able to login with ssh as user admin or user hans and run
'telnet localhost 700x'
Randy later said, use ts_menu which is a curses selection menu.
Some hints from Hans on connecting to ports
To connect: 'telnet localhost 700x'
OR 'ts_menu'

remove password on sudo:
https://blog.jasonantman.com/2009/11/root-on-a-cyclades-acs-console-server/
Detail excerpt:
sudo cp /bin/upgrade_power.sh /bin/upgrade_power.sh.SAVE
sudo chown root:root /home/admin/foo.sh
sudo mv /home/admin/foo.sh /bin/upgrade_power.sh
sudo /bin/upgrade_power.sh
sudo cat /etc/sudoers # just to verify that it worked
sudo mv /bin/upgrade_power.sh.SAVE /bin/upgrade_power.sh # set things back to the way they were
And the key to all of it is the simple /home/admin/foo.sh script:
#!/bin/bash
chmod u+w /etc/sudoers
echo "%admin ALL = NOPASSWD: ALL" >> /etc/sudoers
chmod u-w /etc/sudoers
